...I was being admitted to the hospital
...my life was about to change forever
...my love for Nick was about to soar through the roof
...I was about to experience the purest miracle of creation
...I was about to gain an undeniable testimony of eternal families
...my understanding of a "mother's love" was about to be known
...my restless nights were about to begin
...my heart was about to be softened
...my outlook on life was about to change
...my desire for many more children was about to surface
...a sweet little girl was about to wrap Nick and I around her finger
...I was about to be someones sole source for survival
...my prayers were about to be answered
...my daydreams were about to be reality
...my strongest emotions were about to be shaken
...the greatest joy I have ever known was about to look into my eyes and melt my heart forever

Labor was great. I was admitted at 8pm on Thursday night and Amelia arrived at 4am Friday morning. We left Saturday afternoon at 2pm. No problems at all, and quick as can be! I loved it. I can't wait to have our next one!

Meeting my daughter

First family photo

Going home!

Our first day at home

Her size "newborn" bear outfit that keeps her warm when we go out.
Our first Christmas
Santa even found MillieI only made her wear this itchy, uncomfortable outfit for about 10 minutes. I felt too bad and ended the picture taking pretty quickly
When she "smiles" she totally has a dimple on her left cheek. It's so stinking cute! She absolutely LOVES looking at her birds. The second I put her on her changing table her head is instantly turned and looking at them.
We've had a lot of visitors!! Grandma Shirley (my mom) made it here about 6 hours after she was born. I was lucky enough to have her stay through Christmas day...but then she got stuck at the airport all day and never made it home in time to open her own presents :( I told her I'd make sure Amelia always knew about the Christmas Grandma missed because she was traveling just to see her.
The best surprise was from my sister Marla. She was with her family at Disneyland for Christmas. On their way home they decided to take a major detour up to my house. I had no idea they were coming! She completely shocked me into tears. Thanks again Marla, that was the best present I could have asked for...even if you only got to stay for 14 hours.
Frankie, who is super excited about the baby!
Grammy and Grampy Hafen
Mr. Tux already loves her
I just loved this outfit, it made her look much older than she is.
My cat is HUGE! This picture was from today. She was born at 7lbs. 11oz. When we left the hospital she was 7.3 On Monday she was 7.5 She has hardly grown at all. She is still so tiny. We go the the Doctor again in the morning to check her weight. I REALLY hope she has gained quite a bit more.

I'm not even pregnant (hormonal) and your cute words made me get a little tear in my eye! That is so sweet! Your words would make anyone want to be a mother! You have a beautiful baby girl and you do look great. Garrett says she's DARLING! (yes he said that exact word) Congrats!

Yeah, you have to look pregnant to begin with to "look" like you just gave birth. I'm not sure we're friends anymore due to your postpartum physique!
I love the 2 weeks ago things you wrote down. beautifully written. I feel so the same on them... Well, I'm not full of love for Nick per say. You know what I mean. I'll call you back, I promise!

k if your sore from feeding i have a miracle cream. its called "newmans nipple ointment" and it seriously saved my life. its a lot like the lanolin (i dont know if you've been using that...but it didn't do jack for me) newmans is a rx and only available at a few pharmacies in slc but you shouldn't have a problem finding it in ca. call your doctor if your dying, it really helped me. good luck. i seriously will get better. ha, i hated when people told me that...but it really will.
